Day 44- Casa dei Pellizzi (Certosa, Milano)

After yet another luxurious night sleeping in the "Five Star" Ford Focus (parked in front of a train station somewhere in France!?) we had an early start back on the road, in the hope that we would reach our destination- Rosella's house in Milano- before midday...

Although we were close to the border of France/ Switzerland, it took us (once again) much longer than expected to drive what was left of this "leg" (Paris to Milano, via Switzerland?!)... The scenery, however, well and truely made up for it!! When mapping out our route the previous evening, I don't think any of us really expected to see such beautiful scenes, as we just "passed" through a sector of the Swiss Alps!! Yet another place we must return to...

Finally we made it to Milano and for the first time on this trip we didn't get completely lost when entering the city outskirts! We found "Via Barnabi Oriani" (Rosella's street) and had a great reunion (yes, lots of hugs, jumping up & down, etc...) outside her family's appartment block- it honestly felt like it had been months since we were all together in Rome!!

After meeting Rosella's gorgeous mum Caterina and enjoying our first taste of her amazing cooking, we spent the time before Ros had to run off to work catching up...

When Ros and her mum headed out that afternoon and Four O'Clock rolled by, their family appartment seemed the perfect subject for the project!

I pottered around the house taking shots of the kitchen and loungeroom, little details of the tiles and curtains, etc... I think every place we've stayed at has had a unique style that also tells a story about the people... No, I didn't include the family portraits (as cute as they were!!)... Ros may never have forgiven me:)

[Back to our border crossing (France- Switzerland- Italy) earlier today!]

We were stoked to see snowcapped mountains, having so much time in coastal towns and cities... It was an interesting contrast!

Happy campers:) looking slightly overtired!
